Emily Bell is the Local Training & Partnership Coordinator for the UK Women’s Budget Group. She has 20 years’ experience in education, having worked worldwide as a teacher, teacher educator and education consultant. She holds an MA from the University of Manchester where she studied the politics of power in teacher training and educational leadership.
Emily joined WBG in 2021 to work on the Local Data Project. The aim of the project is to demystify data so that local organisations feel confident to use equalities data in their own work. Having come from an education background, she had to demystify it for herself first! She uses her newfound enthusiasm for data to get other women excited about what they can achieve with data. She is also still very aware of the politics of power, so she encourages others to think about who/what data represents and who/what it misses.
