Head of Public Sector Geospatial Policy
Geospatial Commission

Biography

Jamie Clark is Deputy Director for Commercial, Finance, and Operations at the Geospatial Commission. Jamie first encountered geospatial at university and was hooked.  After completing his Masters, he joined Derby City Council as a Housing Strategy GIS Officer, before joining OS Great Britain as a Developer. As a Developer Jamie worked with both public and private sector users to help maximise value from their chosen software and OS data.

In 2012, Jamie took on a role at BEIS with the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) Secretariat representing their public sector interests in commercial discussions with OS and Royal Mail.  He was involved in the work to create the Geospatial Commission, and subsequently joined the Commission in April 2018.

Whilst no longer really able to class himself as technical Jamie still remains a geographer at heart, with a series of coloured pens that he uses on a daily basis. The Commission has an exciting story to tell with a huge opportunity to make a real difference, and Jamie is really excited to be part of it.
